3D Printing & Design Club

Turn your ideas into reality! In this hands-on, project-based club, students grades 7-12 will explore the exciting world of 3D design and printing while developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical know-how. Students will learn to design their own 3D models using Tinkercad and Autodesk Fusion, then bring those designs to life using 3D printers.

Throughout the ten-week session, students will learn the basics of 3D modeling, the design process, and how 3D printers work. They will create a variety of fun and practical projects while learning how to take an idea from a sketch or concept to a finished, printed object. Students will also experiment, troubleshoot, improve their designs, and discover how 3D printing is being used in engineering, manufacturing, art, product design, and everyday life. At the end of a ten-week session, students will be confident in using, maintaining, and trouble-shooting 3D printers. They will even take home some fun creations, tools, and other items as part of the club!

No previous 3D modeling or printing experience is required. This club is perfect for students who enjoy creating, designing, building, experimenting, and learning new technology. Come ready to imagine, design, print, and create!

When: 10 weeks, Mondays 3:30-5:30pm, Sept 28- November 23.

Who:  grades 7-12. Club size will be limited to 15 members for each session in order to maximize computer and printer time.

Cost: $65 (This club is FREE to local students through a generous grant from Pine County).
